Q: I have been wondering whether Ford will sell Volvo off to either a Indian or Chinese firm? Or possibly back to themselves? Or someone else? I really like Volvo cars, but I don't want to see the world's safest cars, suddenly turn into the world's worst car? What is going to happen to Volvo?
A: I don't expect this to happen soon. Volvo and Ford have a lot in common, while Jag, Land-rover, Jenson Healey and the like did not. I think this is like expecting Ford to off load Mazda stock. Mazda and Ford work well together. Just as I think Volvo and Ford do.
