Q: It's a V-reg Suzuki Swift GLS 1.0ltr, 3door, made in 1999. I was told by the person who sold it to me that it does not have an immobiliser. However when I went to get a spare key cut I was told that I had to take the key to a specialist because the car did have an immobiliser. If it does have one then I can get cheaper insurance so does anyone know whether it comes with one factory-fitted? (This is the older type of Suzuki Swift, not the lastest type)

A: All vehicles sold in the UK after 1994 must be fitted with a Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser. So I'd say yes it's got one unless it's a import.
