Q: so that do you think of the 5 door model? was it a good or bad change??
A: It's a good step foreward, and kind of a testament to Subaru's dedication to performance. The reason they offer it in a hatchback now is largely due to them wanting to shorten the overall length of the vehicle for competition in WRC. The result is a very quick and nimble car with better weight balance/transfer and tighter turning radius than the previous STI's. Unfortunately for many (myself included) it seems all the time was spent on R&D for mechanics and performance (which is where it matters don't get me wrong), but I wish they would have taken more time on the asthetics to make it a more unique looking hatch that stands out (or still offer the sedan for that matter). There really is no denying it, when the average person sees one it looks like a focus with a hood and wide fenders....
