Q: My coolent light keeps coming on in my Skoda Fabia, despite the fact that I've filled the thing up to maximum level. Does anyone have any idea why else this might be happening? Sorry - model is a Fabia Classic 2002 1.4
A: You may have filled the header tank to maximum, but have you checked your coolant level since running the car? If it has gone down again then refill to the correct level and try running the car again. Is the level the same? Yes = car coolant level is ok and no leaks. If the light flashes the sensor is unserviceable and needs replacement. No = you probably have a coolant leak, check all your hoses for signs of a leak. If no leaks then you have a coolant leak within the engine. And he sensor is working as it should. QED
