my 1999 pontiac grand am has new tires but still makes a humming nose like tire noise, what could it be?

Q: the tires were put on because they were needed and thought that is what the noise was from..i just bought it....the front right tire, where the noise was coming from was more bald then the other tires, if that means anything that could be wrong...it drives good and is aligned..and has proper balance and weights on the tires

A: Wheel bearing is likely culprit or CV joint as mentioned by other posters....I would also have the brakes checked too.....loose pad or shoe or cylinder or bad rotor could hum and make noise......take car to Midas......they will find your problem.......have found mine for years when I could not fix it...........driveway mechanic************
