Q: The throttle occasionally wigs out in my GTP. When pushing the gas, the RPMs stick depending on how hard I pushed the pedal for 5-8 seconds. Any ideas on the issue? I have a feeling it's the PCM being stupid, but not sure.

A: That car has to have a throttle cable and linkage setup. It's too old for drive by wire. I'm sure you know this but, make sure the floor mat is not holding the accelerator down. It happens a lot and to the best of us. It might be a worn bushing or cable. I would bet that cable can not be lubricated properly and should be replaced. The linkage can probably be lubricated with a dry lubricant. I'd try that first. It may also be worn pivot bushings. I think the least likely thing is the electronic control system.
