A: Firstly that picture is not of an HDi engine. It is a picture of the old style 1.9 turbo diesel (XUD9TE). The 2.0 HDi (DW10TD, DW10ATED, DW10BTED) can be identified by a square black cover over the engine that has 'HDI' embossed on it in either black or silver. To change the oil get the engine warm before you start the job. Under the car take the sump plug out of the sump with a 21mm socket or spanner. Drain the oil into a tray for safe disposal. The oil filter is an old style metal oil filter mounted on the front of the engine quite low down and is accessible from underneath with a strap or chain wrench or the correct PSA removal tool. Unscrew it anti clockwise to remove. The new filter is PSA part number 1109T1 rub a little oil onto the rubber seal of the new filter with your finger and screw the new filter on until it is hand tight. Then tighten 3/4 of a turn with your strap wrench. Change the sump plug washer for a new one ( i think the part no is 31333 but it could be 31332 or 16430, i always get the 3 mixed up!) and refit the sump plug and tighten. The engine will take 4.5 litres of new oil ('TOTAL Quartz 7000' semi-synthetic is the recommended PSA oil for 8 valve diesels, the 16 valve diesels take TOTAL Quartz 9000 fully-synthetic).[the XUD9 + 9TE, DW8 + 8B, DW10TD are 8 valve. The DW10 and DW12 ATED and BTED are 16 valve.] These instructions are the same for the XUD9, XUD9TE, DW8, DW8B, DW10TD, DW10ATED, DW10BTED, DW12ATED, DW12BTED engines so don't worry too much about the exact engine you have. The part numbers and locations of the sump plug and oil filter only change when you go to the newer DV4xTED, DV6xTED engines. EDIT: a pic of a DW10TD with the engine cover removed. http://www.forum-auto.com/uploads/200504/paradius_xs_hdi_1113333555_deux_206_012.jpg
