Q: I have been pricing rear axles for my 206, it has drums yet im putting on a rear axle with calipers/discs. I am going to opt for a reconditioned one yet am told it will come with abs sensors. I have a mechanic thats going to do the work for me yet I would like to know whats involved, what problems have to be dealt with, like will the abs sensors just be dumped since my 206 (5dr,1999, 19ld) isnt abs standard, or will they be on the rear axle but not connected. Any infor from people "in the know" would be appreciated.

A: The ABS wont be a problem because you can just dump the bits you dont need. You will need to be aware of front/rear brake balance though but if you have a mechanic doing the work he should know this anyway. If you do end up with to much brake on the rear you could get him to put a manual compensator valve inside the car.
