Q: i am looking for a car, and have found this peugeot 306 (below). it is 8 years old, 2.0L diesel engine. it runs really nicely, but it has 139000 miles on the clock. is this too many miles to buy a second hand car. that is the only thing holding me back from buying it...also the clutch is a bit sticky, two of my friends have the same problem with their 306, is this just a feature of the cable clutch, or something else? http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/PEUGEOT+306/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-9-13-4294966697-4294967204/advert.action?R=200823311215022&distance=1&postcode=bh63hn&channel=CARS&make=PEUGEOT&model=306&min_pr=1000&max_pr=2000&max_mileage=

A: DIESEL? too many miles?? No my friend, JUMP on it. Diesels last a very very long time! I was GIVEN a 505TD that sat under a tree for 3 years, I towed it home, changed the oil and filters, charged the battery and drove it for another 3 years. It got 40mpg and hauled ass! here are a couple of long lasting diesel engine examples! http://reviews.ebay.com/1980s-Mercedes-Diesels-647-500-Miles-amp-Going-amp-Going_W0QQugidZ10000000003602287?ssPageName=BUYGD:CAT:-1:LISTINGS:3 and http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/23/vw-finds-highest-mileage-diesel-in-ohio/ and you can make your own fuel if diesel gets too high in price! http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_make.html
