Q: I have owned a Peugeot 206 for 18 months it is 7 years old now it has just started a knocking sound coming from the rear it dos'nt happen when I go over bumps only when the surface is uneven then I get a knocking noise from the rear axle some one told me it could be the rear suspension or a spring in the rear axle has snapped they also said it would not harm the car in any way or would not fail the MOT. Does anyone know if this is correct & how much would it cost if it was the axle spring.
A: Without looking at the vehicle there are a couple of possibility's either your rear shock has failed or your exhaust has moved and hitting your rear axle you need to get it checked out at a garage if it is one of these problems it isn't over expensive to put right. Good luck
