Q: Hi we have a REALLY annoying smell coming from the heater vents in our Partner Combi. It makes the car smell all the time but, in the winter when the heating is on and the summer when the cool air flow is on, it's a million times worse! It smells like turmeric to me or asparagus according to my other half. The garage have checked the coolant and they detected no leak, it doesn't smell like rotting anything or oil and no one has any ideas! We don't have A/C ,so the bomb you can buy for the 'fungus in the A/C theory' didn't work Please help me as we've got a 7 hour drive to Cornwall in a month and I can't bare it!!
A: Back in the 1980's a lot of American auto factory workers who were dissatisfied with their job would purposely sabotage the NEW car. 1. They would put their old sandwich inside the door during assembly. 2. They would put Limburger cheese on the motorblock. When hot, it melted and stank. 3. They would put some "******" into the heating vents. (insert local colourful manure word here). You said nobody had any ideas, not even the garage? I suspect a disgruntled Peugeot employee...... Dismantle the heater vent area and investigate.....
