peugeot 206 1.4Look indicator stalk.?

Q: When at a junctions indicating either direction once I turn the indicator jumps to show the opposite direction. Also other times when I pull to a stop in order to turn into a side street the indicator is reluctant to stay in the on position. Can any body give me an idea as to what the problem could be?

A: Has your steering wheel ever been removed, and then re-installed? If your steering wheel is 30 degrees out of position, the little plastic lever (to change the indicator) will be out of position. If your answer is "No", then your indicator stalk is faulty. These CANNOT be repaired; they are so complicated inside with multi-position switches, sliders, springs. You can only replace it. Replacing it involves removing the plastic cover under and above the steering column, BUT NOT THE STEERING WHEEL. Then, I think only two screws hold it in place, and of course the plastic wiring connector.
