Peugoet 306 diesel cambelt?

Q: If your changing the cambelt on peugoet 306 diesel turbo can you get away with just changing the belt or do you have to get the kit with the tensioners as well?

A: I think? Tensioner pulley is twice the price of the belt. It really doesn't FAIL you, and damage your engine. It is more likely to become old, start making high pitched whining noises that bother you as you drive. Then you have to open the timing covers again, and put a new one in, and then remove, re-install, and re-use your same cam belt, which nobody recommends. I would even replace the water pump too at this time, if yours is hidden under the timing covers. Usually, my moto is, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. But sometimes you have to think of your own precious time, preventing future do-overs.
