Q: I have an older version Peugeot 106, still in excellent condition. However, it has developed a low rumbling knock from the back drivers side area when I go around a left hand bend and accelerate out of the bend. I took it to a Garage who reckoned it was not a Drive shaft or a Wheel bearing, as he couldn't get any noise out of it when he took it out for a drive. However, I took it to him having just filled up with fuel and I had put my mile meter back to zero. The mile meter was still on 2 miles and the distance from the fuel station to him was 2 miles!!!! So I am not certain he even looked at it! Any ideas what this could be please?

A: sound s like there is play in the offside rear swinging arm check it out by jacking it up on that side and pulling on the bottom of the wheel or shake it with a hand at 1pm and 7pm if so you need a back axle you could replace the bearings but its long and time consuming and might not take the play away
