Q: They get great milage and there tons of fun to beat on. But you can't import on because the govenment says there unsafe to drive. Seriously, i will decide whats safe and what isn't.
A: Well, I'm sure the gov't has reasons to decline the import of Peugeots. Many overseas cars can be imported, but they have to be modified to meet current emissions & safety standards. They stopped selling those cars many years ago due to lack of sales. Unfortunately your voice isn't enough to decide what is safe and what is not. There are enough studies by DOT & the insurance companies to decide which cars are the safest. But, I agree w/ you. They are nice cars and I'd love to see more diesel imports to offset our high fuel prices. G'day.
