Q: Lost my keys haha cheers trevor, appreciate it

A: EDITED: Yikes, it may be easier to have a locksmith grind a new key for you? There's a lot of work to replace ignition and 3 or 5 door locks. There is no "hot wiring" of this car possible. The steering wheel is also locked in position until the key is inserted. If your 1997 has an ECU or "transponder" key.. then you can really forget "hot wiring". The key also allows other electrical things to work, radio, turn indicators, etc. But I think 1997 was too early for ECU and transponders??? You will have to buy a new ignition barrel, which comes with a set of new keys. I hope you can still open the doors? You may have to replace door and boot locks, too. 1. You will have to remove the plastic cover from below the steering wheel, 4 small phillips screws hidden in 4 holes. 2. Look UNDER the ignition barrel. You will see a small 'pin' in silver metal. It may have a square shape to it. It is surrounded by black metal of your steering column. You have to cut away a little black metal, OR drill this pin completely flat, so the barrel can slide OUT of the steering column. Gently disconnect the plastic wire connector. 3. Buy your new ignition barrel ( guessing 50 quid?) from Peugeot, or get one WITH KEY at a Breaker, 2nd hand. If you need barrel, 4 locks, boot lock, keys, I can't guess the price. :( 4. Install the new one easily. Reverse order of dismantle. Turn new key to a position that allows the pin to detract and pass into the black metal column. DONT START THE CAR ACCIDENTLY. Perhaps disconnecting negative battery wire would have been step ONE, ha ha. 5. Hide a spare key up under the front tyre somewhere! good luck.
