Q:

A: Water pumps on most Peugeot engines these days, are located "inside" the engine. That means you have to remove the timing belt plastic covers, remove the lower crankshaft pulley, remove the timing belt, and then remove the water pump in the lower part of the engine block. In the early 1980's the Peugeot water pumps were attatched "outside" the engines, and could be removed in minutes. PROGRESS?? Here is a photo of what you are looking for: http://www.thepeugeotshop.co.uk/product/307_-_1.4_Petrol_Engine_-_Cooling_Water_Pump_1201G2-2116# Here is a photo of a modern-day Peugeot engine. (NOT your engine) http://www.peugeot.com/en/products/engines/petrol-engines.aspx I think the water pump is behind the 'silver' pulley, rear of engine, mid-height. When buying a new pump, always know your chassis number. Sometimes Peugeot uses two different diameter pumps on the same model of car. Or...take the old pump with you to the store.
