Why shouldn't I disconnect the battery?

Q: I brought a peugeot 306 in janurary and I remember the dealer telling me not to disconnect the battery. There's a chance that I may need to replace some glow plugs which requires me to disconnect the battery but I can't remember why I shouldn't.I don't have an immobaliser or the key pad in the car. The only thing which requires a code is the radio. My peugeot 306 is the 1997 1.9 TD model.Does anyone have any suggestions why I shouldn't disconnect the battery?

A: Only the radio, you can fit new glow plugs without disconnecting the battery, with the ing key in the off position there's no power to the plugs. Replaced mine last month
