Q: I had a problem with my heater blower which was stuck on number 1 so I found the problem to be a dodgy rheostat and heater control panel so I changed them and got it working but I was advised not to turn it round to the symbol with the car and the arrow going over it but STUPID me done so :( which led to my heating braking again so I've checked the fuses which seem to be o.k and the back of my control panel were I found the wire going into the speed selector off so i fixed that and still nothing, so I was wondering if it may have broke my rheostat (Again) or is there maybe another problem with it? Please Help because you know what our weather is like and I need it to work LoL

A: Gosh, 21 hours and NO ANSWERS? I have the 306 electrical schematic. I cannot even find the heater rheostat ON the darn thing. But I believe a NEW rheostat is not the problem this time. Placing your OLD rheostat back in would be the proof of the NEW rheostat defect. Does your 306 have 13 fuses under the dash? or the newer 306 with 30 fuses? There may be two fuses involved. Rheostat circuit and blower fan motor? Try adding 12 volts directly to the fan motor. Does the fan work then? good luck from here at my desk.
