how to time a peugeot 306?

Q:

A: The 306 is probably one of the last Peugeots that you can time yourself. Later models, 307, 407, 207 have a timing that is controlled by the ECU. There are two versions of the 306. The earlier version has 13 fuses in the fusebox, and you can still use a "stobe light" to view the timing marks on the flywheel. Remove the plastic cover on the gearbox housing edge to see the flywheel. Is this your first experience with timing ANY car? Is that your question? Or do you have trouble in finding the timing marks, and twisting the distruibutor? The later version of the 306, with 30 fuses in the fusebox, may be very different?? It may have electronic everything, (like the --07 models) and I do not have any experience with these later models, sorry.
