how do i take off rear disk off my Peugeot 306?

Q: how do i take off rear disk off my Peugeot 306 do i need any specel tools

A: Sorry, I have only seen a few 306 with rear DRUM brakes. But if you have rear disc brakes, I can't believe you have to remove the caliper as one answerer suggested. This would involve two big screws that are sealed with thread-lock glue, and a torque wrench to re-tighten them, from behind the caliper. UNLESS YOU HAVE A GIRLING CALIPER (not Bendix) and the center of the caliper swivels upwards, leaving the lower part attached . Peugeot uses two small phillips screws to secure the disc in place on the hub. You have to remove the 2 brake pads to tilt the disc free. The two little phillips screws become VERY tight over the years. Sometimes I tighten them a hair MORE, to break them free from thread rust. Sometimes I carefully spray with penetrating oil, and return in a few hours. (no spray on disc!!) Sometimes the disc is rusted firmly to the hub. This requires gentle hammering, penetrating spray from behind, and MORE hammering / vibration. Add anti-seize cream upon replacing. Replace these screws with new ones, otherwise the slots get chewed up with every replacement. Put anti-seize cream on the new screws everytime.
