Q: every time i come out of 1st and 3rd gear the gear box makes a squeaking noise any ideas?
A: Pulling the lever backwards form both the first and third gear involves using the same linkage rod. The only difference is the OTHER linkage rod which tilts the gear lever a little bit to the right. I would suspect the little BALL JOINT needs some grease. It is a wonder why you don't have the same squeek coming out of 5th gear as well. Grease these joints from underneath the car. They can be seen easily.
