Q: sometimes i rev the accelerator, and the engine does not pik up until after a few attempts. I have recently serviced the car and the problem still persisit, and personally i think it keeps getting, worse i have taken it to the mechanic and they cannot seem to find out the problem. The car cuts out while driving and sometimes wen i rev the car, it does not pik up...and i am clueless to what is wrong wit it. any suggestions

A: MOST Peugeot 405's had a carburettted engine (1.6 and 1.9). Your car has a fuel injected engine. You cannot rev it up reliably. It cuts out. You have a fuel delivery problem. I am really surprised the mechanic cannot find the problem. Was this a Peugeot Dealer, with all the fancy diagnostic equipment? Or a local guy? Option #2. Find out who makes the fuel injection equipment for your 406. Is it Bosch? Jetronic? Take your car to an independent garage that has, for example, BOSCH equipment for diagnosis. PS: for all previous problems with the 405.... I would change the distributor module (spark amplification) It is a flat black plastic piece held on the distributor with only two screws. 88 euro here in Belgium.
