Q: the clutch is fine but the gear stick is very loose and moves freely, it will only find 3rd and 5th gear. It was ok, no sign of anything and then this has happened all of a sudden.
A: Yet another Peugeot transmission failure .... add this to the list of electrical, latch, engine and sunroof (if equipped) problems all Peugeot suffer from. Problem could be as simple as shifter assy. failure or as complex as internal syncro damage. I suggest you locate a local Peugeot specialist (aviod the dealer if atr all possible) and have it analized.
