Q: Please could someone explain briefly how one changes (replaces) a headlight on a Peugeot 406 XL (P Reg). I would really appreciate any helpful advice.
A: I am a panelbeater and worked on a few, I havnt worked on one for a while so here it goes, take off the grill some dont have a grill then you will have to drop the bumper down, to drop the bumper down and its abit awkward, in your wheelarch liner there is a a rubber gromit at the front of the linner turn the wheel in so you can see it remove the gromit and with a torch look thru the hole and you will see a little eye hook and that needs a half turn and that will release it from wing but you will need a special tool because its in such a tight inclosure and a long way in, i made my own tool for this a long rod with a handel at one end an a hook at the other and i made it out of copper wire and it works well, also there is a few other bolts that hold the bumper on but you will see them if you look up the bumper from under the car, once you have released the bumper it will reveal the four 10mm bolts that hold the lamp on. then put it together the same way you striped it.
