I have a Peugeot 206 (2000 1.1 L) & I was wondering if 165/85 R14 alloys would fit on them?

Q: My friend has these size alloys & he has said that I can have them for nothing if they will fit on my car. Hopefully somebody can get back to me with the answer ASAP so I can get them. I currently have 165/70 R13 wheels on my car if that is any help to any of you. Thanks in advance

A: YIKES. When Peugeot wheels are 13", then the brake drum and brake discs have holes drilled in them to match the 13" wheels. The lug nuts hold the wheels on. Check FIRST to see if the 14" alloy rims have the EXACT spacing between the holes as your 13" wheels. With my Peugeot experiences with cars from the 1980's - 90's, this is not true. At the very least, you will also need the 16 Alloy rim lug nuts too. They are probably longer, and have a different tapered surface under the hex-bolt. SAVE one of your original tyre/wheels for a spare tyre, and save 4 of the old lug nuts in your glove box. Even 2 millimetres difference between lug holes will not work.
