Q: Over the last week or so engine turns over quite a few times before it starts, but once engine is warm it starts first click. Anyone out there able to give me some idea of what it could be please? *edit* Thought about heater plugs, but I understood direct injection didn't have them.
A: Hi there. You will need to go and get a battery check asap. The battery is the heart of the device and it sounds like yours might be on the way out. If you leave it, you risk damaging the starter motor and that will cost you. If the battery is fine, they can check the starter motor, leads etc. for you - I am pretty sure from your description the problem is somewhere there. These cars are rock solid, just as long as you maintain them faithfully and nip these problems in the bud. My 51 reg is still going like a dream! Good luck, Steve.
