Q: Hello. I am going to need to purchase a new car within the next few years, as my current car isn't very reliable anymore (I live in Michigan, and I don't know if it will be able to take this winter). I am a 35 year old man and I live with my 33 year old husband. We don't need a car that has a lot of room because it's just the two of us, and we'd like a more luxurious car than the one we have now (a 1997 Buick Century). We're looking at either Cadillac, BMW, or Mercedes-Benz and can't decide. Our price range is between $40,000 and $80,000. It can be a coupe or sedan, but no SUVs or Crossovers please. Which car of these specifications would you recommend?

A: Since you live in Michigan and since it can be a bad idea to antagonize the neighbors, buy the Cadillac. They are much improved than they were before and I have to say I'm impressed with them. Specially the ride over what I know are frost buckled roads in Michigan. The sports suspension of BMW and Mercedes, except maybe for a 7 series or S600, feels harsh to me on bad roads.
