Q: i have a 88 chevy 4.3 that i am going to change from tbi to carburated i have the hei distributor but i need an intake and a tranny like a 350 turbo or a 700r4 NO ELECTRONIC STUFF and this needs to be around ftsmith arkansas thanks guys
A: go to wrecking yard and look for 85 full size pickup or van, with 4.3, and get used 4 bbl intake. Then a 700 r 4 uses an electronic torque converter lock-up, but will shift otherwise. The older 350 turbo will work, but later models have the electronic torque converter lock up as well. (it's a clutch in the torque converter that locks it in direct drive to save gas) go to wrecking yard and look for 85
