A: On the tv show, Top Gear, they ran both cars on the racetrack and got the exact same laptime. 1:31.6 seconds, which is also the same laptime of the 2004 BMW M3. The Nissan 350z accelerates a bit quicker. The RX-8 handles better. Both have the 155mph top speed. I have driven both the 350z and RX-8 in manual transmissions. The RX-8 is a better deal. Cheaper price, back seats, bigger trunk, higher revving engine, better handling, and more futuristic looks. But the 350z was a bit more fun to drive.
