Back of Lamborghini Murcielago

Q: What is the name of the blinds (or shutters) located on the rear window of the Lamborghini Murcielago car? Is there any way to install it to any different type of car? Here is a picture: http://robson.m3rlin.org/cars/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/lamborghini-murcielago_06.jpg

A: Those are called "louvers." Back in the 1970's and 1980's, there were louver kits you could install on just about any type of car you can imagine, often with results that were of questionable taste. Many wretched spoiler and racing-stripe-laden cars came right from the factory with louvers already installed. Ford's infamous Mustang II Cobra II comes to mind. There was always some fool who thought he was improving the looks of his Trans Am, Plymouth Sapporo, or Datsun 280ZX by installing louvers on the rear windows. In more modern times, guys who like to cover their vehicles with "Type R" badges and decals have ordered those same kits and applied them, with dreadful results, to all manner of sport compact car.
