Q: A recent announcement from Ford that they will do a major retooling and start manufacturing small cars only. I can't believe it's taken them this long to get it right. Something the Japanese figured out years ago. The Japanese stated no built in obsolescence, quality workmanship and make 'em small. The arrogance of Ford, GM and Chrysler to continue to make gas guzzlers is coming back to bite them. Not a shred of sympathy from this guy!
A: it's about time. hopefully we will invest in alternative energies to the point where it makes sense for ford to make energy efficient vehicles. as of now the US spends $3B/week on the war in iraq, and only $3B/year on investing in alternative technologies. this is the future, and the sooner ford gets into the game, the better they're going to be off down the road.
