Q: ok well i have a 240sx and im looking for engine swap posibilities. i know what i need to know about the sr20det, rb25det, rb26det, swaps but i want to know with labor and everything hw much will putting in a 2jzgte in it cost also how much will a 1jzgte cost? also if i got a sr20det and got it to 300hp how much Torque will it have would it be around 320 like the 2jz. what would it take to get that Torque?
A: Around $5,000-$7000. As far as your sr20det question, what really matters is torque in the first place. Horsepower is just a number calculated from torque. So ignore HP numbers. Totally useless. Nevermind that you haven't said where you live, and unless you get a USDM engine, all these swaps are ILLEGAL. Unless you live in an area that is emissions exempt. At which point, the engines will still need to have emissions equipment installed, before they are legal to be used in your vehicle.
