I have a nissan altima 2000 I have a error code P0325 I dealer said catalytic converter need to be changed th?

Q: the cost will be $580.00 is it correect?

A: That is a Knock Sensor code. The usual converter code is a P0420. Replacing a converter for this code a P0325 will do nothing for the code. If your check engine light isn't on and you can't hear any actual knocking from your engine (especially pay attention while you are accelerating) then I wouldn't worry about it. I see this code a lot on Nissans, especially Maximas. Must be a design problem. If you are hearing a knocking noise on acceleration, try upgrading you fuel to premium for a couple of weeks and see if it goes away. If you check engine light is on, it is for another reason because this particular code will not turn the lamp on. Hope that helps. God Bless!!!
