Q: i have a 1992 nissan maxima gxe 88,000 miles (recent tune up and still does all this?) : 1 feels like a misfire. 2 engine has a slight shaking when idle. 3 when driving has less power.
A: Injector failure is the most common cause of this concern, given new Nissan brand secondary ignition parts. The dealer should check the resistance on all six injectors to verify and isolate the cause of failure. All six should be at approximately 12.8 ohms. ( -/+ 0.2 ohm). Ask to see the results of their test,(They do NOT have to remove anything to do this test.) It should be the same amount of labor to replace one or six so, if one is marginal, you'll save money down the road by replacing it now.
