Q: I have reacently bought a 1990 240sx and thinking about putting in a sr20det in it. I live in Albuquerque NM does anyone know anyone or place that would do that. and also how much will they charge?
A: Great choice on car/engine combo. I'm not really sure of a place up there but labor would be at least $2,000 and the engine could be had for around the same as labor. With all the new belts wiring and everything you're probably looking around $4,500 total give or take a grand or so. Yeah well you get what you pay for and obviously the dude below me is fine with advising you putting a busted ass motor in your car, and being someone who has paid a shop to do and engine swap, it cost $2,500 in my case to swap a maxima VQ30DE into my old sentra before I sold it.
