Q: I believe my v6 has about worn out. I like the truck. Is it worth putting in a crate motor? getting this one rebuilt? or getting a salvage engine. The reason I'm asking is I don't know how hard it will be and I don't have to many miles on this motor and its worn out. I vote good on all my answers.
A: What is it that makes you think that your motor is about to wear out ? those engines do seem to take alot of miles. Here is my suggestion. have your catalytic convertor checked out. have you ever had the exhaust system redone?? I have heard alot about the cat going bad in Nissans ( i have a Frontier and an Altima) , if it does go bad ( possibly making your check engine light come on) it can actually make your motor blow. PLEASE get that checked out. They say the quicker you get it fixed , the better. There are some really good Nissan forums on the internet that have really good advice, and you can post your questions there too.... i hope this helped a little
