Q: i want to make my 240sx into a manual..any idea of the price and alittle bit of wat they all do to it? im still new at the mechanic thing
A: Why do people answer without knowing? Who are you helping? Your own ego? Your post count? 240sx 5 speed swaps are very simple if you have some automotive knowledge. I have done about 10 swaps. If I have all the parts lined up I can do the conversion in one day. Maybe 4 hours if I have a deadline. If you get your own parts and they are all used and you do the labor yourself you can do this swap for under $1000. Depends on the clutch kit you buy. You can spend $400 on a nice ACT kit. Or if you want to add a B&M shifter, $200. If you go to a shop do not go to a chain store like Pep Boys you will have to find a small independent import shop. If the shop is willing to use used parts and they line everything up for you and do the labor figure on about $1500.
