Q: I want to get either a 4th or 5th generation Maxima. However i am on a budget so i am counting in MPG ratings in here too. If they have the same MPG rating i will get the 5th generation maxima.
A: The 5th generation probably gets worse gas mileage. The 4th generation Maxima weighs around 3000lbs but the 5th gens are around 3500lbs and with it weighing 1/6th more you shouldn't expect the same mileage. I'd personally get the 1997-1999 model which has a revised grill as far as 4th gens are concerned.
