Q: hey ill be on my p plates soon and i love skylines, was just wondering even thought theres models without turbo already is it possible to remove the turbo from one??and if so would it be expensive and even worth it???

A: Best option is to buy a non turbo version, there is quite abit to do to make the car turbo so going the other way would be ideal for the car as its setup to run with the turbo setup.IE the ECU the Exhaust to name a small portion. Cost also the non turbo version are a lot cheaper to buy so you may as well have one and save your money, you can always buy a non turbo and add a small turbo down the line. The non turbo Skyline comes as a 2 door and a 4 door the R32 version comes as 1.8l 2.0l single cam and twin cam, 2.5l and a awd gts4 version. Whilst the R33 comes as a single cam 2.0l and a 2.5l and again the awd version. The R34 comes as a 2.0l,2.5l and again on the awd version. Many forums offer a na tuning section to there site to give those non turbo versions more power, but for a non turbo rwd,awd car it is still fast with some models reaching near to 200bhp stock. So not a slow car by far and with some mods can will be that bit faster also. Great cars no matter which model you have also the auto models are great with responsive boxes and not a sit back and go experience also aided with overdrive, rev hold button and a power button to allow redline changes.Whilst the R34 has the fun of being triptronic. http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/index.php http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/forums.html http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/
