Q: I am deadset on a Nissan, but I am not sure which model to get. It is going to be used and between 2000-2004. I have narrowed it down to 2 models. Sentra and Maxima.
A: You are actually on 2 opposite sides of the nissan spectrum of cars. The Sentra being the entry level "econobox" vehicle, and the Maxima being the flagship sedan of the line-up. Decide what is important to you: Sentra: will definitely cost you less, but it will not have as many options and the engine will be less smooth, but the trade off would be a cheaper price, and better fuel economy. Maxima: the Maxima's VQ engine has been proven for reliability and has even won some awards, and is nice and smooth. A Maxima will offer you options like Bose stereo, Heated Leather seats, and a quieter and more refined cabin, but it will end up costing you a bit more and it will not have the fuel economy of the little sentra.
