I have a 1997 nissan altima and i have to step on the gas down to accelarate and its sucking all the gas why?

Q:

A: Sounds like a bad Mass Air Flow Sensor. It is located between the air box (where the air filter is) and the intake. When they go bad acceleration cuts in half.
