Q: i know it is possible.. its just whether most places can or will and how much $ roughly would it be

A: The GTR never came as automatic, newer skylines the gts gts-t gt gtt all offer an auto the later being triptronic. The auto conversion could be done although single turbo auto skylines stock boxes will take around 400bhp before box work will be needed to alter it for more bhp,if your sticking below this then fine. Other option is to buy as mentioned the single turbo or non turbo models which come with a stock auto set-up ,both are great versions also, the auto box on the skyline is a great box and owners love it you find its people whom have never had one that don't like them only. Some auto owners do change to manual mainly on the hunt for more bhp without changing box internals. Myself was that impressed by the auto i bought another one, which i have atm,the box is very responsive and a light touch of the pedal and your gaining speed fast.after reaching 40ish there's an overdrive button and other options are a power button which will allow redline auto changes through the gears and a rev hold button.Great boxes and great fun . The R34 auto box gives the option of being driven manual or auto so again another great experience. So depending where you live you either need to find an auto box and bits,in the US try Canada or else where or aswell as i can give you loads of Skyline breakers websites.
