Q: I just bought a 1995 Nissan pickup, and the check engine light is on. The previous owner told me it was for the TPS and an O2 Sensor. He replaced them, and the light is still on. Is there a way for FREE to check out the code? I know for GMs you can use the paper clip, but I don't know any tricks for Nissans. I also know Advance Auto and Autozone scan for free, but its only OBD-2, and Shops can do it, but they usually charge crazy amounts to do so. It runs perfect, and I know it doesnt matter for inspection, but I would just like to see what it says, for free, if possible. Thanks!

A: Check the online forums for your truck. I'm sure they have a tech sections that will show you how the run the ecu for codes and you can look the codeds up as well. I have a 93 300zx and I found a forum that has endless pages of DIY (do it yourself) stuff and it was free. Just had to join. Good Luck
