replace stock turbo on 300zx with performance ones or not?

Q: im gona buy a 1991-94 nissan 300zx twin turbo which has about 300 hoarse power, but i want to know if i were to swap out the stock turbos with performance ones like greddy or someting, if it would give me more hoarse power, and also what other parts would give me more hoarse power.

A: Bigger turbos like garret gt28rs will get you more power, but what you need to think about is optimizing the horse power increase let alone the cost of just the turbos. You looking atleast 1500 just for tubos. That's not including the cost to have them put in unless you do it yourself. Now if your looking just increase horse power and want to maximize that kind of cash, look at cold air intake...complete exhaust (headers to mufflers), boost controller, larger intercooler & pipping, and jwt Chip. This is the route I took first before the turbo upgrade. Theirs not much different in cost but horsepower increase is greater than just upgrading turbos, and when you ready to upgrade the turbos, you'll be ready for whiplash. I also suggest you really do research on the Z32 (300zx). This cars are expensive to maintain and very tune sensitive. Welcome to the z world. Here is a site for Z lovers. You can get a lot of good info on the car from a lot of talented do it yourselfers. Completely dedicated to z's.
