Q: Does anyone know if the japanese Nissan Pino is CA street legal? The only information i know that might help is that it's a U-LEV (Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle) which is one step further than what our cars are. Even if someone could tell me what a car needs to be CA street legal that would be great as well.

A: 1. It's not an imported vehicle, so it has no US title. 2. It has not passed US crash and safety tests, so it would need those. 3. It would have to conform to the US emissions test (even if it is a ULEV) 4. Insurance companies in the US, generally do not insure vehicles that are not part of the US market...so you wouldn't be able to get insurance for it. 5. Its a small, retarded car that no one in the US wants.....so there's no effort to bring it over or legalize it.
