Q: i have a sentra spec v and wanted your answer or guess on my question i was looking into buying some nismo products that i seen on this website the website showed the hp increase of each product ok first a nismo cold air intake 7hp a nismo w/o cat headers 16 hp and a nismo exhaust system 4 hp do you really think with these mods it will increase the cars hp by 27 hp or so i know the spec v has 175 so will it be around 190 hp to 200 hp and i know the whp is like 152 whp so will that be like on 165 whp or so
A: All those are peak gains. Not gains across your powerband. So while you may gain 7hp, 16hp, and 4hp at very specific ranges of RPM, they don't mention that you will see NO gain at other RPM, and may actually lose horsepower at some. In other words, say you gain 100 horsepower, at 7,000 rpm. That's great. That doesn't mean you have an extra 100 horsepower, though; because you're not always at 7,000rpm. So, advertised HP gains, are pretty much worthless.
