A: Like the other posters said, flushing is simply replacing the tranny fluid. However during the flush, they can tell you if the fluid is burned whick is a sign of need the tranny replaced. Also to see if its burned (if you have an automatic) you can take the dipstick from the tranny resovior and smell it. Burned is burn and the fluid you be a translucent red, not dark. IF you take to one of those quick lube places to have it flushed, make sure they change the filter. A tranny service is about 80.00 and takes about 30 mins.
