Some engine mods for a 1997 eclipse?

Q: I have a 1997 Eclispe and I wanted to get some proformance parts to get some HP behind it I have just finished with all the details on paint and the interior on the car and havn't touched much in the engine, I'm 16 and this is my first car also, I was thinking of a turbo or something but what all do I need to buy? Also, about how much do you think it will cost?

A: Some answers (LOL)... Anyways, firstly, the easiest way is to get a intake which is about $200 average and a Exhaust which is about $300 average. These are the common hook ups that you see everyday. But if you want to go more. You can get a intake manifold (costly) and/or a exhaust manifold which is about $500 average(varies). You can put a pulley (about $300) to make it respond faster. Or even better, get a ECU/Piggyback for $500 average. Gives you lots of HP like 15 increase and also, sometimes better gas milage. After all of these are installed you should get around 28-35 hp gain around there. You'll see a difference when your driving at least. This setup is for a non-turbo engine. If your going turbo, I would suggest go emailing around to see if some aftermarkets have a complete kit with new fuel injectors/system. Complete Turbo kits usually goes around 3k-6k, but gives off massive hp like +150 hp(varies). Then last but not least, the suspension. You really don't need suspension if your dragging a lot but its good for handling turns. But should be around two grand to get a whole suspension including coilovers, sway bars, tie bars, front strut bar, etc.
