WHICH LANCER EVO IS BETTER FOR RACING/TUNER CAR...THE MR OR GSR?

Q: every one is saying that this is for the evo X. these are the only two on the mistubishi site. what other kind of evos are there?

A: Are we talking about the Evo X? The Evo X GSR is more tuner friendly than the MR. Not only is it a manual transmission which makes it quicker off the line than the MR, it is also lighter than the MR. The MR is a little more complicated to tune than the GSR only because of the existing twin clutch system that works in tandem with all the electronics squeezed in the car. I'm sure in time, the tuner companies out there will figure out how to effectively tune the MR. They're getting close. Vishnu Performance for now is in cohorts with Mitsubishi to make their computer chip an option on the EVO. The best thing if this pushes through...it's covered under warranty. Edit: Hey Tobey101! You have to specify what year of car you're talking about so that you're not left wondering why the answerers aren't getting it. Different trims came out in different countries on different model years. Since we don't know where you're from, we have to ask. Japan has a base model (GSR) on the Evo VIII as well as the MR. Japan and the rest of Asia as well as Europe has the RS, GSR and the MR on the Evo IX. The GSR is new to the states on the Evo X. So don't be frustrated that the answerers aren't clear on what you're asking about.
